Exclamation #5 dead...time for a long block Any suggestions?

Ok, I've got an early 99 f250. Just put in 8 reman AB injectors, I have blowby coming out of the #5 and #7 cylinders, #5 makes little or no difference when hooking up the injector. Nope..No Compression test was done. But, I'm fearing the worst. With that being said, I'm lookin for a reman long block. What will I be paying? Where would I find One? What should I look out for? You know the drill...lol
Please share thought and advise.
Thanks so much for your time.
Paul

Do you really need a whole new engine, or just a rebuild kit, with .010 or .020 over pistons? There's rebuild kits out there that are not ridiculously expensive, like a long block engine. check www.powerstrokeshop.com, and www.blackwidowdiesel.com also has a engine rebuild kit including every gasket or seal you need, new oil pump, new oil cooler, everything such as pistons, rings, bearings, etc.

I forgot to mention. The truck has 210000 miles on it, I guess I figured at this point it would be easier just to buy a reman as to have to overhaul the one I have..Any idea how labor cost into having someone overhaul mine? just a ballpark figure? Thanks for the reply!

It would be probably a little over a thousand dollars in labor if i were to do it myself or with another guy to help in removal and installation of the engine. That thousand doesn't include parts or machining. So if you pay $1300 for the rebuild kit and the machine work (bore/hone, deck surfaces), then you will be looking about $1000 less than you can pay for a remanned SHORT block, 2500-3500 less than you would be for a long block.
