ford and BP

my gas cap onmy ranger says "for recommends BP"

any logic behind this, or is it merely advertising

Yea.. mine has that also... I'd give then some business but closest one around is 63 miles away.... too bad....

I am not surprised to know Ford is trying to tell people to stick a BP in their tank.

That's a strange one, especially since there are not BP branded stations everwhere. No consumer is going to know that ARCO is part of BP.

you would think ford out of everyone would support american companies considering they are themselves getting hammered by foreign competition.

Directions to fueling vehicle:

Unlock fueling door open.
Screw reverse direction the fueling cap.
Install nozzle fueling end down.
Fill fueling resevoir level desired fuel.
Remove fueling nozzle end upward.
Screw fueling cap thread direction on.
Close fueling door locked.

For recommends BP
