I'm about to change gaskets, UVC harness and glow plugs. I've been in the drivers side VC before (only issue was the far back bolt...PITA). Never been in the passenger side. Any gotchas? Anything 'extra' I have to take off on that side that might slow me down. Trying to plan out my strategy.
Just to give you more room, remove the AIH/GPR relay bracket, take of A/C compressor(not required) and set to the side, other than that its pretty straight forward.
I tied the heater hoses out of the way without removing them.. Also i found a 1/4" socket wrench with a swival and entension worked pretty good to get the bottom bolts out..I also built a wood platform to stand on. I also remove the A/C but like Brandon says, it really not necessary but gives you move room.. It comes off pretty easy..
You can unscrew the oil filler tube but I did not. I did not remove the AC or bracket. You must be very careful with the dipstick tube lest you have trouble and spring a leak at the side of the pan. Do not do this. PB blast the dual nuts/bolt. Other than that, remove what may be in the way. GPR and AIH relay stayed put for me. No problem there.
Did you know both Vcs can be removed without removing the CAC tubes? Just disconnect at the turbo and manipulate. It can be easier to simply remove them though. Gives you more room and much easier.
