The most cost effective on that truck is to leave as is. It look really great as is IMO.

if its leafsprings u could use drop blocks...those are pretty cheep and they work pretty good.. if u have some ponys pushing it id sugest using the steel ones not the aluminum ones .on the rear u can use drop shackles also...

Remove a couple leaf springs front and rear. Drop you a little bit and soften up your ride a little. But I agree with CIAF, looks great as-is.

leaves or the removal as said above . i keep entertaining the notion to do it to my bessie {53} and havent . i still use it as a truck and the potholes in illinois roads will eat it alive . although the roads in michigan were much worse the last time i was there ...................

Thanks guys. What about the drop axle for the front and flipping the axle in the rear? and there again I dont want to spend a fortune.

If you flip the rear you will need to "C" notch the frame...A drop axel is a nice approach if you wish to keep the straight axel...Add some short stacks from midfifty and you'll have a nice ride...cost about $900.00 to rework the front

Personally, I love the stance. The truck looks awesome.

The cheapest and easiest way woule be to remove every other leaf in the leaf springs. Thats where I'd start. Drop axles are pricey, flipping the rear will necessitate a "C" notch in the frame (probably) and a clearance hump in the bed floor

Good luck with it.

Thanks low54. The midfifties people were great. They dont carry anything for my year. But they did give me the contact to Warner spring who does. I will be calling them tonight.

Thanks to everyone for the compliments. It's been a work in process for a while now. I am currently working on the interior. Bench recovered, stero, door panels, etc. I will post pics of the bench. I think it turned out pretty good.

As everyone is sayin, I may just remove a couple of leafs. How bad is it going to make the ride?

Bobby, you really need to post a pic of the truck from side with the "new" drop front so we can check out the stance.
