Spring Turkey permit

How many people got there turkey permits, and where do you guys hunt?

I applied for mine today (finally remembered). There aren't that many turkey around my house though. I couldn't find any good pictures, but there is a flock that hangs out in the back yard that is about 60 strong.

I bought mine,

<TABLE style="BORDER-COLLAPSE: collapse" borderColor=#111111 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=2 width=400 border=1><TBODY><TR><TD vAlign=bottom noWrap align=middle bgColor=#f4e8c7>HUNT

NUMBER

</TD><TD vAlign=bottom noWrap align=middle>HUNT UNIT </TD><TD vAlign=bottom noWrap align=middle>OPEN SEASON </TD></TR><TR><TD noWrap align=middle bgColor=#f4e8c7>0234 </TD><TD noWrap align=middle>All Spring Units* </TD><TD noWrap align=middle>May 5 - May 31 </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>I have a friend that owns just under 300 acres in Gladwin, with a good number of turkeys. So this year I'm going to try with my black widow recurve out of my double bull ground blind. I chose the guarantee hunt because it is a longer hunt than the others.

I bought mine over the counter for hunt 0234. ALOT of turkeys here in Menominee County. My brother and I lease 160 acres about 10 miles north of my house and there are quite a few turkeys running around there. Used to have a couple of flocks around the house but they disappeared over the years. Guess they got tired of getting shot at.

I took a throw at one with my bow. Was a big longer shot then I'm used too with a braudhead. It went right below his breasts between there and his feet, he just looked and went back to pecking and scratching. I was so pissed I had only brought one aarow out. heh.

The tom's left the flock and I havn't seen the hens and chicks since. So who knows where they are at.

On the way to school there are a couple 30+ flocks i see every now and then. Tring to get pictures of them.

I took some pictures of some Pats in my back yard the other day. I have 3 of them that are comming to visit.

I havn't seen the pilated woodpecker in a while. I got some crappy pictures of him with an old camera.

What are some of the services you will offer at your new shop,

Might have to take a drive and check it out.

Sorry Toyman for the hijack.

Not a hijack, I like the other conversations that happen during a thread.

Hopefully I can get time to hunt this spring, I wanted to make sure I had my permit if the time is there.

I am curious about the new shop also, fill us in.
