Lost Keyless entry code...

I have a 2000 Expedition XLT Sport and I have the keyless entry on the door and I dont have the code for it, is there anyway to look this up?
I was going to go to my dealer as a last resort.

Look up under the drivers side dash, there'll be a sticker on a box up there with a five digit number, that's your code.

What if that code dont work... I have the manual which came with the car when i got it. it had a card in it with the number on it but the number dont work. I havent checked under dash to see if its the same I guess i know what im doing tomorrow...
