mating 351m to c6
#2
I assume you are mounting the engine to the transmission(that is already in the vehicle?) I have the transmission pan blocked, and jacked up as high as it will go. I get the engine to trans mounting surface parallel with the trans, and use a long bolt thru the lower bellhousing holes to align everything perfectly. I scooche things together as close as I can without binding up the torque converter, and rotate it around till the studs will go thru the holes. I push the motor further back (or trans, whichever is the loose one) so that the studs are all the way through, and rotate the engine over till all 4 nuts are tightened. Once that is done, I install the belhousing bolts, (or as many as I can reach) then try to lower the engine onto the mounts.
