2 problems, maybe connected

Hey gang,
I've got an 88 f150 with a 300 and it has 2 issues. The first is it idles fine when it's cold but as it warms up it developes a miss and seems to be running rich?

The other issue is part throttle excelleration. When I'm going along at say 1800 rpms and push on the gas to speed up, it hesitates before speeding up. When I first step down on the gas it feels like I'm towing something. Not sputters or coughing, it just doesn't going anywhere for a second when I hit the gas.

I haven't done much (any) checking I know the O2 sensor is new, I've replaced the thermostat with a new 195 deg., I have not check fuel pressure and do not have a code scanner.

Any suggestions guys, I'm not to swift on the 300 injection system.

i have the same problem as you with the throttle, posted it twice in the inline six section and once in the 1987-1996 section, the only reply i got was to change the fuel filter. My problem started like what you are saying and then became much worse, i changed the o2 sensor and it returned to the original problem, then i changed the fuel filter, made no difference. i also changed the MAP sensor earlier so its new as well. the next place i'm looking is towards is the fuel pressure regulator. if i figure it out i will be sure to let you know

my I6 idles fine cold or hot and runs smooth so my GUESS would be that the problems are not related

I would pull the codes and reset the computer. You do not need a code scanner to get the codes and codes can be stored without the CEL coming on. There are several things that could be causing your issues and the computer can point you in the right direction. fordfuelinjection.com will guide you on pulling the codes and gives a good description of the components.

why check the codes? he didnt mention anything bout a CEL...?

reset the computer first. then take it for a nice drive and see if it returns, if it does (probaly will) i would check the fuel pressure KOER (45-60 psi) and EGR.

Codes can set without the CEL light coming on and you can clear old codes without killing power to the radio. Its not hard and it lets you know if the comp is working properly. Yes pulling the plug will clear all codes.
YMMV

Thanks guys, I'll try those suggestions out. I went to my father's house last night (where the truck is) and could not get the POS m5od to get into reverse. So i got distracted from the engine issues at that point. I will let you guys know if I find anything.
