Alright guys back again with some more minor problems. I was getting a clicking/ticking noise out of the engine bay. Check it out, replaced 1 injector. Trucks runs alittle better but the next day im getting even more clicking/ticking noise!!! I check all of my injectors(right side is a Bit$#). And it looks like I might need to vhanhe all of them. Is this normal to change injectors on our L's at 48k miles? If so where can I get 8 of them for a reasonable price? I went to the dealer to buy 1 and they told me $150 a piece. Thats like $1,200 for all 8! Are they ripping me off?
And any trick on how to get to the right-side injectors easier?
And it looks like I might need to vhanhe all of them.
First, what the heck is "vhanhe"?? LOL, talk about a major finger stutter!!
Ok, I gotta ask, why are you replacing injectors? What lead you to determine they needed replacing?
Injector noise (the clicking/ticking noise you heard) is normal and present with all Lightnings.
If you're having a fuel related problem, just changing injectors *****-nilly to solve the problem is like shooting in the dark. You're just throwing money down the drain.
As for the prices the dealership charges, yes, they are charging way more than what you would pay if you went somewhere else, like to a Lightning vendor.
If it were me that was going to replace all of my injectors, I would look into something larger and a tune.
Why? Unless your moving massive amounts of air, you won't be maxing out the stock injectors anytime soon at all. A person will need to upgrade the fuel pumps before they'd need to upgrade the injectors.
Stock injectors are good for a vast majority of most highly modded L's. It's rarified air when you need to swap out to a bigger injector for these Lightnings.
That, would be, I assume, if you were running enough boost to take advantage of it? Stock... I wouldn't bother with the added expense.
I was typing, you were posting...ya beat me to it.
Upgrading injectors aren't always the easiest thing to tune for either. Yes, it's not just caused by the injectors themselves, but a compilation of factors including but not limited to a bigger MAF, the 3.4 Whip or 2.6 KB, amount of boost, porting on the heads, type of cam, etc.

When it's idling it seems that the truck shakes like every 5 sec. Very little. It has never made that ticking noise before thats why im worried about it. Truck runs fine.

So you thought you should start replacing injectors because the truck shakes every 5 seconds? How did you come to the conclusion replacing injectors would help solve the shake?
I'm a tad confused because in one sentence you say it shakes a little, then in another sentence you say it runs fine.
Have you checked it for DTC codes?
Injector tick is normal, and can be described as faint, but noticeable once you become aware of it. It's always been there, you just didn't notice it until now.
That being said, I would still err on the side of caution and check your plugs.
A plug coming loose, getting ready to launch, makes the same ticking noise, but much louder. With the hood closed, it resembles the sound of a minor exhaust leak.
You have an '03, so you probably don't have to worry about launching plugs, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
