I would like to put a 2" leveling kit on the front of my 2005 F150 4X4. So far all the kits I have seen are a spacer above the coil spring. That is fine but I don't like the idea of short stroking the shock by 2"'s. Bilstein makes a shock for this purpose, it is adjustable. BES-C298-HO. But, it is only for the F250 & F350. Someone has to have a solution for this problem. If they don't, they are missing out on an item that has a huge market potential. I have spoken to numerous people that didn't like the kits because of this problem.
For the manufacturures out there. There has to be a shock already made that is very simular to the factory shock with a 2" longer body?
There is, and Bilstien makes it. It can adjust up to 2"s and I'd say that would be the best way to go.
There are leveling kits out there, one made by autospring, that goes above the whole coil over shock assembly, and there is no short strocking anything.
Either one would be a good choice, but the bilstiens would be smarter, b/c it would be like killing two birds w/ one stone(replaceing shocks, and doing the leveling kit once instead of going back and doing basically the same job twice).
I talked to Bilstein and they say the adjustable shock is for the F250 & F350 only. If you know something else please let me know.
