the supports that run from the firewall to grill panels are missing on the 54 panel.anyone know how long these are and where do they bolt to on the front? I tried to look in the galleries but nobody has a good picture of them.
there was some guy's beggin for 'em before on here so i dunno about easy .if all else fails may i suggest goin' to your local farm supply store and buying smooth metal rod of the appropriate diameter and length , then thread it as needed . might be easier and cheaper .
I have the hood support rods,But in some of the pictures of trucks there are two rods that go from the fire wall to the radiator support.Maybe they are not on all trucks or maybe you just do not need them.
DR Smith ,Have you tried Mid-Fifty?? I think they have an on-line catalog,I dont own a panel, but I"ll bet they"re the same...Rusty used ,painted new or polished...check"em out..
They are called fender and hood alignment rods. They have a bracket at the front near the intersection of the fender and the radiator core support that they fit in that allows for adjustment. There is also a firewall attachment bracket. As mentioned earlier, look in the Mid-Fifty catalog. They have the rods and attachment brackets.
