Buying 02 F250, code question
P1249 - Wastegate Control Valve Perforation
P1670 - EE Feedback Signal not detected
P0381 - Glow Plug indicator Ckt Malfunction
I am about to buy it anyways, there is no smoke coming out of the tailpipe, it drives WAAAY too smooth for anything serious to be wrong, and these codes don't seem too serious to me. I am used to hunting down electrical grimlins (I have a 96 trans am for christ's sake) so I dont think that the 1670 will be too hard to track down. I also think this code was tripped because the battery was dead when I first found the truck (they are replacing battery). As far as the P0381, I heard that either the solenoid for the glow plug is out, or the glow plug itself is out. With a voltmeter, I am sure I can figure out which is the problem. And for the P1249, I have heard that most people just run open wastegate anyways. How do I disable the wastegate valve and run open wastegate? Is there anything wrong with doing this? Sorry, new to the turbos.
Thanks for your help, and I can't wait for the cold air intake, exhaust and chip!!
Just unplug the red line from the waste gate and plug it most put it on one of the boot clamp bolts. I have ran mine with out the waste gate hooked up you need to get some gauges because you don't want to run the stock turbo over 25lb of boost to much. Get boost EGT(exhaust temp) and trans. gauges before putting a chip on the truck.
Have you tried to rest the codes.
