I have a nextel hard wire hands free in my truck. my phone died and they dont make that phone any more, second time this has happened. cost $300 each time i buy a phone upgrade the hands free. here is the question, i stll have the antenna mount on the roof of the truck( they drilled a hole in the roof and hard wired it under the dash board) i was going to buy a Cb Radio and was wondering if i could use the same antenna?
I'm not sure about the CB antenna stuff, but I think you are getting ripped off if you are paying $300 to update the hands free every time. Check out the parrot bluetooth hands free stuff. They will work with pretty much any phone with bluetooth now and into the future.

Yeah i thought so, $300 for a new hands free hard wired kit plus the cost of a new phone. they where a auth dealer for nextel they did all the installs from radio towers to phones and hands free for nextel and cb. ill check out the bluetooth product. Thanks
As a former truck driver, I found the best bluetooth headsets or earpieces were found at the truckstops. They are not cheap, (I paid about $100) but you get what you paid for. Mine was a Blue Eagle and it had about a 15 hour talk time which is at least double of most. Good luck in your search.
If you want to put a cb in the truck. The ant that is on the roof will not work. But you could go out and get a roof mount ant like the wilson 1000 trucker and mount it with that same hole that was drilled for the Ant of the hands free. I hope that this helps. That is what I did when I left one job and got a different job that used CB's instead of Two way. The freq of the two different ant are different also.
One more thing about the Blue tooth. I have a DVD player/NAV unit in my 2000 F250 that has the blue tooth built into it. That thing sucks when I use the blue tooth the Parriot units are the way to go but they have some cost getting them installed.
I have had many. I have the Galaxy 959 in both my f250 and my other Truck. I like them the best because they have the sidebands and when they are tuned right they have as much power as a 10 meter radio without the FM band. But there are alot of good ones out there. If you want something basic, then the Cobra 29 is a great radio!
