1992 F-150 Custom 300. My clutch doesnt seem to engage all of the way. The higher the gear the worse it gets. My trans slips if i try to accelerate a little more than normal. If i drive normal you cant tell a whole lot at first, but if i hit the gas it slips. At first i thought i smoked the clutch somehow. I would hit the gas and it just felt like i was slipping on ice, rpm's went up, exaust roared but no movement. It progressively gets worse untill it isnt driveable. The last time it did this i drained the clutch fluid resevoir, filled it with fresh fluid and bled the line. It was perfect after that, shifted great and regained all of its torque. But now one week later the same thing is happening. When i bought the truck 4 months ago i was told that the trans was new. Including the master and slave cylinder.
And what is better for a fuel tank? Steel or plastic?
Get one of these puppies http://www.mityvac.com/ read the tech info on bleeding
the clutch. I would spend some time bleeding and ensuring there are no bubbles in
that clutch before throwing money at a new clutch if it grabbed after swapping it. I remember hearing that some fords clutch line had a problem either with it collapsing or something and causing problems.
