i have a 2001 f-250 and i pull a 6k lb trailer. i live back in hills of kentucky. when i am getting on it going up hill i invariably get a SES light. i am running an edge evolution programmer set on the 80hp tow bc i can't afford a dp tuner quite yet(btw i practically stold the edge from a buddy who sold his ford and bought a dodge, go figure) the wastegate has a bleed orfice on it as well. checked the codes and this is what i am coming up with.
P0478-Exhaust pressure control valve high
P1247-Turbo boost pressure low
P1211-Injection Conrol Pressure Pressure< or > than desired
The P1211 code is what is setting off the SES light when you are on it hard. It's a very common thing to happen with trucks running chips or tuners. Don't worry, it doesn't hurt anything.
The light is from P1211 like Curtis says... Your high pressure oil pump feeding your injectors is not keeping up with the demand.. this is normal to get light with a chip or turner programmer.. It goes off after cresting the hill.. right.. ?
