Going in to replace GP's, anything else?

Well, I finially need to replace my glow plugs after 180K on the clock. Since I have to pull the covers, what else should I replace while I am there? I am not having any issues other than some of the glow plugs not working.

Most will say the under valve cover wiring harness or at least install the add-on clips that hold the connector tight.

Just a thought....I'm about to replace GP's and harness on mine as well. Do the newer harness connectors require the retaining clips or was that just an issue with the OEM connectors?

Thanks everyone for the information! Does anyone have the correct part number for the UVC harnesses? Where is the best place to purchase the good glow plugs? I tried to get in on the .01 glow plugs, but was not lucky enough to find any,

These folks seem to have just about everything, and pretty good prices also.

I lost Dan's bookmark on this when my laptop died. Aren't the injectors supposed to be inch lbs.?

Replacing glow plugs. What is the torque for the glow plugs themselves? I think I recall it being around 14 ft.lbs. My wire harness looks good decent, I cant see a reason to replace it. . I. did find one harness half unplugged like I have read about alot. Going to the dealer tommorow to get clips. I am going to torque the injectors and rocker arms. One interesting thing, I do not have a LL in hole number 8. It says AD with a part number and that is it. 170,000 miles and it is still lasting. Either I got used to the cackle or I got a lucky injector.

How much carb cleaner can I spray in and around the injectors? I have a lot of oil laying arounf the glowplug hole and I am at a stand still until I get a turkey bayster to remove the oil.

Thanks Tim

Update , I just ohmed at the valve cover harness to the injector, results:

Pass:
7) 5.8
5) 3.0
3) 3.3
1) 5.8

Driver:
8) 3.2
6) 3.2
4) 3.1
2)3.2

Should I replace the pass side wire harness?
