the right one works.. changed the bulb in the left one but doesn't work. I cut the plug off so I could clean it but when I held the bare wire to the bulb still didn't work.
I want to know where the whole wire is so I can run new wires out to the plug, or if I can loop it into the right back up light and what gauge wire to buy
man I wish I could help -I've always just traced it back till I find the break!!! they should be color coded-you can check closer to the firewall and check the same colors and if you have power there it should be in between the 2 spots!!!
none of the 6 87-96 body style trucks i have had have ever had a working driver side backup light from the day i picked them up from the dealer, to the day i sold them.
Yep check the ground wire. I had both backup lights on my 79 now work, and assuming these are the same style backup lights then i had a bad plug itself. Check the power wire with a test light for cotinuity when someone in the cab puts the truck in reverse. Good luck
