It's a big block ford intake. Nothing special about it. I've thrown many of them in the junk pile.

it is virtually impossible to tell the difference between a 429 and 460 from the outside. they use the same block, heads (except for a few exceptions) and intakes (again except for a few exceptions), etc. of course the year of the vehicle also as they stopped making 429 somewhere around 74 or so (not 100% sure or exact year).

the only 100% accurate way to tell the difference is either measure the stroke or take the pan off and look at the crank casting numbers. the bores are the same so the onkly difference is the stroke.

there are a few other clues that might help. if it has a 2bl carb on it and is original, then it is a 429. 460's only had 4bbl from factory. also if it is a 429 cobra jet or super cobra jet engine it will have D00E heads and either a Quadrajet (yes a chevy carb) or a Holley on the super cobra jet. but of course lots of 460's also came with a Holley, so unless you know the difference between a 600cfm holley from a 460 and the 780cfm from a super cobra jet, don't assume you have the scj motor. of course all of these parts could of been swapped over the years, so not a real true way to identify the engine size.

so really the only real true way is to check either the stroke or crank number.
