I had a glass pack on the 04 in my sig and it was a great improvement over stock, but I took it off and just ran a piece of pipe, and it sounds much better to me.
But if you put a 2.5"-3" x18 or 12" glasspack it would make it sound pretty mean(something you just can't get with a flowmaster).

Not to hijack the OPs thread...
But how was it at highway speeds?
I put some Hankook M/T tires on(which are very quiet for M/Ts), and I could hear the tires hum over the exhaust. Like I said, the tires are quiet, and in OD doing 65ish I couldn't hear them. It sounded pretty good when accelerating, but now it's off, and it's only a piece of pipe. I can hear the exhaust over the tires, but OD makes a big difference and it still isn't loud, and not at all annoying while cruising, but it sounds GREAT accelerating!
I'd suggest getting ride of that big ol muffler to anyone, and I've used glass packs on all my vehicals, and have no problem with them.
I have true duals with no converters on my 77 and it doesn't have OD..... That's loud and can get annoying when cruising.
I have often thought of going to glassy's, but I like the deep tone that the flows have and the glasspacks dont seem to be deep enough for me. Or the ones I've heard any ways. (which none of them were on a 4.6l)
just throwing in my 2 cents. i had glass pack on my 05 screw, but i didn't like the way it crackled so i started looking around and found the Dyno Max Race bullit. its almost the same as the glass pack, but it has holes instead of louvers in the baffling. it sounds good getting on it and i can't hardly tell it is on there cruising on the interstate, unless you get on it.

(in bold) ...Was exactly what i'm afraid of when it came to the glass pack. I think I'm look for something a bit more smoother and with a light grumble on take off- Basically not too much louder than this stock piece thats on it now. Almost like the CVPs duals on take-off...
Glasspacks are not performance mufflers so you would be throwing good money away for sound only IMO. Borla, Flowmaster , edlebrock, and others have mufflers that sound good and flow better than glasspacks. John Lingenfelter (How to Hotrod Smallblock Chevy's) has good flow charts on mufflers if you care.
