does anyone know the HP of a 73-460

Unfortunatly Ford dropped the compression in 1973 to 8.5:1 which was a 2 piont drop (10.5:1) from the previous year. Your lucky to get 220 hp in a 4 barrel engine.

460 HP

Hi, in '73 FoMoCo only produced one 460 cid, at 9.30 to 1 comp. ratio, 4-bbl carb. Horsepower rating of 198 with Mtcf D3VE-DA carb. Also came with carb.Mtcf D3VF-DA Boosting H.P. Rating by 3 pts. to 202! --justmerod --> checkout ---> http.//www.nhra.com/tech_specs/engine For Reliable INFO.

The 1973 horsepower rating is listed as being 219 horsepower@4,400rpm for Ford&Lincoln models. Curiously,the 1973 460s found in Mercurys is listed as having 224 horsepower.
