60-70mph vibration?

Hi guys.

Just bought a 94 f-150 short wheelbase f-150. Has 4x4 and the 300 6. drove it from saratoga to oswego today 160miles, and was experiancing some sort of vibration out of the front end between 60-70mph. Wheels are balanced, and checked the unversals and they all seem fine. any ideas were to look?

U-joints can sometimes be very hard to diagnose unless they're removed from the vehicle. Could also be an out-of-round tire, an unbalanced driveshaft, or a bad alignment.

One tell-tale sign of bad ball joints (that I've heard of) is if your steering doesn't return to center by itself after turning.

I wouldn't put a lot of faith in the tires being balanced correctly. If it's not too much trouble, rotate them and try again (see if you get the same feel).

ball joints are good, tires are near new, did the balance myself. checked the alignment and thats good also. The u joints didnt have any play in them when i had it in the air. Just changed the left front outer because it was shot. will change the other ones as soon as i get some time, that must be the problem.
