I just replaced my water pump about a month ago and i upgraded to the napa part that replaces the plastic turn down arm. i had 210k on it and it just started to leak at the o rings. the new part is casted into it and eliminates an o ring.
Thank you all for your replies. So I need to lubricate the o-rings? What about using silicone around the edges? guthrie&co, I bought all my stuff at NAPA, they didn't mention a different pump.

Just use the Sil-Glyde as I posted earlier and it will never leak.

maybe you are saying the neck for bottom hose is cast to new pump??

The bottom hose connection, where it turns down to the ground on my old pump was a bolt on piece and the new one has had that part casted into the pump, thus eliminating that part. Wish i had picks.
I have always used a chisel to loosen the nut on the fan lutch. Put the chisel bLADE on the side that it needs to turn to loosen and hit it a few times. It has never failed me breaks it loose then just spin it off.
WOW! I forgot about letting everyone know how this turned out. I used a ratchet strap around the pulley on the water pump and tightened it as tight as I could around the front end. The pulley still turned, so I used a pry bar to add tension. After I got the blade to break loose, the rest of the pump change was a piece of cake. Took about an hour and a half to get the fan off, then about two hours from that point to finish. I sure appreciate everyones help!!
