is it just me or do you all have the same luck with deals . they always find me when i got no extra cash . i have the opportunity to get my hands on two different trucks that i would dearly love to have . the first is of the rams horn variety circa 1948, been in the same family for many moons , all original other than paint and normal wear items , last liscensed and registered in 05 . $ 2,400 and drive it away . the next i am seriously trying to find the cash for but so far .......... 71,000 original miles , 292 w/ manual tranny { they say it's an 8 not sure yet } ,all there ,including the hubcaps , runs , has a throwout bearing out of it , turqoise colored , 1962 unibody 1/2 ton . i drive by it every day and wish . the price , well i think it's a steal , $1,000. i'm about ready to embark upon a criminal career i think ...........................
It really is a common story and does happen to all. Just a way to keep things in check I suppose. It does pay to have a small stash of cash put away for when these deals come along. Most of us use the extra cash to buy stuff we dont need just to add to the stable and then broke when the keeper comes along. We just don't ever learn. I lost many many of these deals over the years and just over the last 10 or so have learned to have a nice buffer to get the "one" when I find it. The 63 Futura ragtop is one that paid off by having the cash when 25 other guys were salivating over it. You will get that deal you seek sooner or later, don't get discouraged.
yeah fomoko it runs ! or so i'm told by the freind of mine { mg nut so i'd assume he knows his stuff } who knows him . a couple of rust spots thats it . bring it home put a new throwout bearing in it and away ya go .even the wife wants it but like i said no cash to spare just yet . he's getting laid off so he's worrying about the cash flow as he lives in a small town on my route in one of the more afluent subdivisions . dain shame as i had asked about it some time ago and no way was he selling . now ... well ..... im hoping the taxes get back as i cant think of any logical or illogical reason why not too get it . i dont know the production figures but i'd assume it's low . oh well i do got things to do to the 53 and the 49 . if any of ya's in the area are interested i can give ya his name . the other was just a sweet chance to grab a mostly original ol' truck and save it from some heathen who will turn it into a rod not understanding they are only original once .
Wow, it`s too bad that there is no possible way for you to get the uni.
I`m too far away to do any good but can`t we somehow think of a way?
I know how frustrating it is when a decent deal has to float on by, been there and done it too many times when I was a kid!
oh trust me i'm working all the possible angles short of selling one of the ones i got fomoko. i can see a simialar fate , the heathen angle , happening to it too . i love hot rods as much as the next guy but like i said its all oem . it's too nice for that . i got a freind of mine who's in love with my 53 and now old trucks in general to buy the 48 i think , but i'm really working the 'cmon and give me some luck wishes . i'm praying my taxes get back fast !!!!!!!!!!
Same story here.
I was looking for a cheap every day driver. I had about $2500 in hand. No deals. I searched high and low. I decided to pay bills with it and use my tax refund to replace that cash. I paid bills and cars and trucks just appeared everywhere around me. Cheap good deals to boot. Now I have the cash and all thwe cars and truck deals are gone. WTF?
yep and i got no late model cars or trucks to sell or trade so dained it !!!! hey i could sell her pt ............ i'd be in a little hot water , but ................LOL
