Yes the glow plugs are working fine we have the van inside a shop with it plugged in for the last few days at least since it went in there. HPOP how do you know if it has enough oil in it? Is it like in the valley of the motor like in front of the fuel filter. I have been tring to find a picture but that is has been harder than I thought.
Thanks for all the help by the way

I thought of putting a new fuel pump on just to rule it out. How do you check that with a mechanical pump

yes right in front of fuel filter
you will find a plug on top
remove plug and oil should be within 3/4" from top

There should be a shrader valve on the filter head. hook a fule presure gauge too it and crank it . I wouldn't go changing that pump just too rule it out its a pain to get too.

Hi I went down and found the box and pulled the sensor thing and inserted a small screwdriver and the oil was almost 1/2 inch from the top.

one thing you might try, there is a sensor (IPS) toward front of left head, unplug it and see if there is a difference, this puts injector control pressure at default

the computer you checked codes with, was the software for powerstroke
most software and scanners won't pull codes on a PSD

if the sensor is bad it can cause a no start, unpluging will just set pressure to default

the IPS detects high oil pressure

BTW I would ask if the scanner had software for powerstroke

Yeah if you unplug the ICP, injection control presure sensor on the front of the driverside head, it should throw the IPR, injection presure regulator into a default seting. The MAC scanner should have, key word should, the stuff for reading powerstrokes but may not pluss wouldn't be so sure the guys at autozone fully understand how to use them alot of the scaners that do multiple vehicles can be quite confuseing. and they may have just checked generic obd2 codes wich wont tell you anyting usefull for you're problem.

My '97 7.3-liter PSD requires a minimum of 40psi and a maximum of 80psi at the FPR. The closer to 80psi, the better.

Did you check the cable connections at the battery, starter relay and the starter? If they're loose, the starter won't engage and the engine won't turn over.

yes I just checked the starter and the battery cables and all are tight. I moved the relays back around to where they were and still nothing, how do you check the fuel pressure on a van? Do you know of a good machanic near northern Indiana? I am just to the point of cleaning this thing out and sending it to the junkyard. I have never been so frustrated with something in my life.
