1st 1 & 2 = high 12v and when key is in the start position drops to mid 6v low 7v
2nd 2 & 4 = 5v when key is in start position
3rd 2 & 3 = mid 12v when key is in off position, and then drops to 5v when key is in start position.
4th 8 & 6 = 12v even when key is off and then drops to zero when in start position then when turned back off jumps back to 12v
5th 7 and 8 = 2v when key is turned on
dont know what all means lol but i was think that im not getting good juice to start when it is operated because it turns cause u can see the fan turn a lil but doesnt fully turn over.
ok here we go again lol but ok so tomarrow i will get it charged up but have gotten it replaced once but at this point ill give it a try
tonight i ran a completly new jumper wire the 12-16ga small wire
see if that does it. i also tested my ground with the test light by hooking it to the postive batter post and checked every ground connection it the circut from above.
tomarrow im gonna try to run completly new wires from the battery post to starter and batterypost to relay. After i do that if that doesnt help i really woundlnt now where to look next. -- with all new wires could say something like the altenator have a problem and draw too much power so that it isnt gettin enough to the starter. I dunno but its gettin late so try again tomarrow. thanks again
well guys just finished running new positive wires and starting to get upest. still no luck my conclusion is it has to be crappy autozone duralast parts more like duraneverworking, but ive never had bad batteries from there i dunno.
yesterday i pushed started to go to autozone today im gonna pushstart it and hand this headache to the pros let them switch to a different brand start or something small and easy and fix it.
well will post final results. thanks guys for your ideas.
Good luck but if you put the meter or test light from one battery post to the other and the voltage drops to 5 Volts when you try to start it your wiring is good and you have a bad/low battery, bad starter or the engine is very hard to turn.
Well it runs, a big brain fart on my behalf and the dumb*** parts guy at autozone but thats y he is just a parts guy and not a mechanic. Before i left the store with the starter he said on the starter solenoid it was -- Poistive, Jumper, and ground. Well nothing goes on the terminal he told me was for grouond. So basiclly the ground wire i had hooked up to it actually became a hot wire after the key was turned on. sending current from the battery to the relay to the solenoid abd back to the engine ground then from there back to the battery. I am lucky my truck didnt catch on fire.
took the wire off put a new starter on and first try fired right up. so the moral of the story be careful messing with electric. And part guys are part guys NOT mechanics.
