What I did when i got mine was exactly like Mike suggested. I went and cut a old hood apart and then I practiced a ton on that. Good advice Mike, although I do suggest that Sedly watches the video, and plays with the welder too
I know when I was learning to use my stick, the video helped some. But my Uncle owns Jewel Holdings (on of the largest pipe welding comapnies in Western Canada right now) and I got to ask questions, and talk to the welders in the shop for tips and pointers. The video only goes so far, talking to people who actually weld for a living is better.... Just remember, you want to stay in the puddle
Sedly, if that Video does nothing for you, I can recommend a couple of sites that have "better" videos that'll do ALOT more for you

Thank's SecretAgent,I think I will be needing more informative material.I got a feeling that the video it comes with will mostly be about how to use it.

I just dropped my 56 cab off which needs old body attempt work/accident repaired,2 cab corners, roof corner de-crickled ,firewall smoothed, dash smoothed, all seams smoothed and door corners rounded, valence striaghtened, inner fenders smoothed, both front fenders repaired.$3000 is what I am looking at paying, but it will be show quality.
If your happy with the finished work, the price is always worth paying-my 2 cents worth

You might be right.I personally think it's too high. The floor repair is only going to consist of cutting an 8" square out and replacing with a patch, the passenger side is smaller yet.The rest of it is just putting in new cab corner's and rocker's.They aren't that bad either. There's no extra rust that has to be cut out.5 yrs. ago I had a quote of $100 to replace each rocker on my '81 f250,that was a good price.Double it to do the cab corner's,that leaves $1000 to patch the floor. The quote I got the other day did not include material,or paint other than primer.
