Howdy all, So for time I have been trying to diagnose my odd vibration problem and today I decided to try to tighten the nut on the front of the Dana 60 and when I removed the driveshaft I noticed that the yoke on the rearend will move almost an eight of a turn! Is this even worth trying to adjust or am I just p#####sing in the wind. Also does anyone know what it costs to rebuild a Dana 60?
I don't know if you're doing it yourself, or not, but if you're going to have it done, I've been told that it's in the $800 ballpark.
I'm sure there are shops that will be better and worse, but that what one of the shops here said. I'm not sure I trust that price, as I've come to believe that shop was more after my wallet than they were my return business.
I have no idea what all the parts would be together if you were doing it yourself.
Look in the yellow pages for a driveline specialist. Someone that does only driveshafts and rear-ends. We have a couple in my area. They will be in a better place to lend ideas and costs.
