Homelink problem

I cannot get this thing to program to my chamberlain garage door opener, any suggestions?

Get me the model number and the date of manufacture of the opener. You will find it behind the front or rear light diffuser on the operator head. Also see if it says "security plus" on the unit or in your owners manuel.
