Just wandering but, can you still buy a HPX for our trucks?
I saw them a few years ago and never got one and now all i see is ones for the 99 - 03's.
If they are avaible where and how much?
Yup they are available. $55 from here http://members.***.net/kcmdieselperformance/ford.htm Got mine the other day. Scroll down a bit on the page to find the ones for 94-97. Don't expect any E-mail conformation, or tracking numbers. It just shows up in the mail about a week later. Hope this helps!
does the HPX need cleaned or just replaced??? i was going to tear in to mine later today. or do you think a guy could go to one of the hydraulic hose repair shops and buy steel line and build it myself???

Why do you think that yours needs to be replaced? is it leaking? I can't imagine with the amount of oil pressure in the line that it would need to be cleaned out unless there is a problem with it.
it was suggested on a thread i started yesterday that the pressure may not be equalizing side to side and causing a surging idle
Stock our trucks don't have a HPX, and that is what causes uneven pressure from head to head causing a rough idle. To install a HPX, you remove two of the oil gallery plugs (one on each head) and install the HPX line. You would probably spend as much, if not more, trying to build your own because of the special fittings needed. Once installed no cleaning is needed.
I just installed mine last week. I got it from TYMAR PERFORMANCE total cost to the door, $38.67. It is a braided stainless steel line with all of the fittings and great install instructions. I ordered over the phone.

I am very pleased with mine, it's a quality product at a great price.

Haven't had time to install yet, since i've been back to school after winter break. I'm going home for the weekend and Ill throw it in then. Directions included are excellent by the looks of them. I'll let you know how it goes and throw up some install pics too.

Dale is a very helpfull guy and I would have ordered it from him, however the KCM one is a solid piece of tubeing, and seems to be more durable than the braided. plus you don't have to move any HPOP lines, just remove plugs, install new ones and your done. I did get my downpipe from dale and would be pleased to do buisness with him again
Installed mine about a hour ago. Got the solid pipe. Had it done in about fifteen minutes. Came with good clear instuctions if you need them. If you go with the solid I highly recomend you screw down the drivers side pipe first and leve the other out of the fitting in the head. There are a few things to get in the way on that side and if you ever tried to install any type of piping you know the pipe hase to be perfectly straight in or you wont be able to start the threads or strip them. If things are a little out of line on the passange side you will have plenty of room to grab the pipe to get it to line up.
