Rear End Goes Sideways

It had been raining for about an hour and I was at a stoplight waiting for it to turn green. When it turned green I started to give it some gas when all of a sudden I did not get any traction and the Truck started to go sideways. I let up on the gas and the Truck corrected itself and everything was fine. This is the first time the Truck did this and it surprised me. I have a 2007 KR 5.4 4x4 3.73 with limited slip. In addition I have a Suretrax bladder filled with water in the bed. I do not have traction control. I live in Florida and rain is the norm, in fact it had been raining a few times over the past week. Also, I do not have a heavy foot and do not drive fast. I am curious what experiences others, especially those of you in the Great White North, have had with this slip and slide issue.

It's our Florida roads and the skim coat of oil drippings the rise to the surface when it first rains. I lived in Maine for a long time and I got used to doing that on purpose in the snow just to play and practice ( I did this in my younger years ) learning how to control it has come in very handy to me. The normal crown on the road will do that, the limited slip/positrac will contribute It, also and If your wheels are straight or not.
just be careful now that you are aware of it

I notice that too when I'm down in the Ocala, Crystal River areas...

It’s common up here. The great thing about limited slips are you get more traction, obviously, but when they do get loose you’ll go sideways in a hurry. Opens don’t have as much trouble because the wheel not spinning usually keeps things in line. It just takes practice to get used to and control, eventually if your like me you’ll use it to your advantage. On a side note, one of the turn off’s to the 09 F150 is the RSC, it’ll try to control this very thing, that doesn’t sit well with me.

I agree with the other posts. Just oil film on the road at intersection. Nothing wrong with your truck.
