C6 trans

I have a 77 F100 with a 4.9/300 engine in it,a C4 trans was in it;I got a C6 trans off a 78 van with a 351W. The housing matches with the engine but the torque converter studs does not come but a tad through the holes in the flywheel. Can some one help me on this issue?

The convertor pilot is either too big or too long for the crank.
