On to my question...I have the amber roof lights, is there a way to put them on a separate switch ? so I can turn them on /off on there own ?.. if so what color wire is it and what amp size witch should i use?
I asked a similar question because I'd like to put them on my '05 F250. There's a wiring harness that plugs them into the main lighting. I don't know the colors but the wires come down the A pillar to a plug. Intercept them near the plug then hook them into a relay or use an Upfitters switch if you have one.
Anyone have their accurate [read- non-Haynes] wiring diagram handy?
I don't understand why you would want to do that, but the wire comes down the passenger side to the kick panel. If you don't have the overhead console it will be a 12 pin or so connector with only 2 wires used, Black and Brown. (If you do have the console it will be the same plug but with more wires) Cut the brown and extend both half's to your new switch and your done. You won't need any additional fuse as the circuit is already fused.
