Bellhousing? The bell has to:
--fit the block. That would be a six-bolt bell instead of an early 5 bolt. Which do you have?
--be the right depth. Your input shaft has to reach the pilot bushing. (replace this)
--be set up for the Mustang clutch linkage which comes off a z-bar between the engine and subframe. Real pos set up, hard to get to but not impossible.
--allow the trans to bolt up with the correct pattern.
--take the starter to the correct depth to hit the ring gear on the flywheel.
I don't recall ever seeing anything about the size of the clutch dictating anything about the bell. Correct stick bell should work regardless of clutch size, all other things being equal.
Some bell references here.

390s seem to have clutch size reference, but not 289-302.
The number you posted appear to be for 65-67 289 6 bolt, so it looks like a winner.
What is the number on the so-called "11 inch clutch bell housing"?

My bell housing is:
C5AA-6394-B as in 69-73 302 or 65-67 390-427-428
So, I deduce from this information that this is a different
bellhousing than the rest of the ones on the list. It does state that
it is for an 11 inch clutch on the 65-67. My motor is a 68 with a 10 inch clutch.
So would it be safe to assume that a C5DA-6394-A would fit my application?
Is the C8AA-6394-A the same bellhousing as the C5DA? In live in a remote
area where I have to get the bellhousing via Evilbay or whatever on the net.
I don't want to buy another POS that doesn't fit.
Thanks for your help in this!
I really appreciate it....

c5aa 6934 A is, again per Kees, 390 427 428.
390 427 428 will not share a bell with a 289 302 in any year.
So, if you have a c5aa 6934 b, you are in luck, it should work.
C5da 6394 a is listed as 65-67 289 6 bolt. It should work.
C8aa 6394 a is listed as '68 289-302. It should work.
They are probably the same part, just the numbers changed for the model year. Watch the A and B suffix, one sb, one bb.
Numberdummy is excellent with all this, but it sounds like you have a bell that should work.
