Differential
I,m wanting to change the third member of my F-100 74' Pickup with auto tranny to a higher ratio. It now has a 3.50, and I was considering a 2.75 for a cruiser. Can anyone tell me if this may be to high?

Engine, tires? Your trans is 1:1 in top gear with some slippage.
Go here and plug in your tire size, mph and the two different axle ratios to see the rpm diff with the change. You are probably ok with the change if you do not pull heavy loads.

It's the 2nd and 3rd calculator. Just use 1:1 for transfer case.
