Post Surging Cruise Control

My '88 F250 with a 460/EFI/C6 has a stock cruise control that's way too sensitive. It seems to "hunt" around the desired speed. The engine is big enough that the surges are uncomfortable when it tries to accomodate the apparent large throttle motions. Is there a way to turn the gain down on the stock units?

Surging Cruise Control

I installed a cruise control from an 82 250HD into my 84 250HD and had a lot of variation and surging until I reset the bead chain tighter on the cruise to carb linkage. It smoothed right out. Give it a try.

Thanks for the idea. However, my '88 is EFI and the link to the actuator is a completely sheathed cable. Hence, no adjustments. I think the problem is the gain is too high but I can't find any place to adjust the electronics.
