CR with Aussie heads

I'm officially beat. After plugging this info into three different calculators, sifting through (I don't remember how many) charts with "definitive" information, I still can't get a precise estimate of my final CR.

I'm using Aussie 351 2V closed chamber heads (which I believe have 62cc combustion chambers, despite listings putting them anywhere between 59cc and 65cc), and a set of Sealed Power forged 0.30 over pistons. These are listed as "0.135 dish, giving a CR of 8.33 with the stock 76.2cc combustion chamber head."

Everything else on the engine is stock. Fel-pro cork head gaskets (I don't know the exact thickness, but keep plugging in .040, as that seems about average). No machining work done.

My final CR range, based on what I've been plugging the info into, has been between 9.2 and 10.51. I'm not kidding.

Any guesses?

We have a simple CR chart for our pistons, this may help a little.

Tim,

Thanks for the reply. Since the heads are TMI Aussie's, maybe you can shed a little light on the problem.

I don't have the exact combustion chamber size for the heads - your site says 60cc.

The pistons are Federal Mogul/Sealed Power forged L2414 's, 0.30 over. This looks to be a stock replacement piston profile. Do you know where I'll end up with the static CR?

with those pistons and the 62cc aussie head, i mostly sure you will develop a scr of about 9.5 to 1 acording to my calculations....

Hollenjoe, thanks for replying. I'm hopeful that's at least ballpark, since we're looking to run this engine between 4800-5200 rpm on pump gas.
