Help....Dead Truck
Ok, I have an 2006 F250 6.0. A few days ago, when I would start the truck in the morning, the starter would keep on cranking even after the truck had fired. Took to dealer today, and they thought it might be related to the remote start in my Viper alarm. So I tried to bypass the remote start, and as soon as I turned the key, the starter fuse blew. The alarm wiring was stuffed behind the fuse box, so I removed the fuse box to make sure there were no pinched wires. Nothing I could see. So I then put it back exactly how it was before I took anything apart, turn the key and BOOM, it blows the fuse again. Now I'm stuck with my truck in my garage and I cant start it. By no means am I an electrical genius and this has me completely stumped. Anyone have any suggestions?

I used to have that happen on a Volvo highway tractor with cummins engine. I would have to get a battery cable off as fast as I could while the starter was grinding away.
Off to get a new or rebuilt starter, back in business again for 150,000 km.
