regrets??

First i have to say i have been a loyal ford driver since my dad enstilled it in me. I am on my first deisel and its a 6.0 in my excursion which i have been in love with since i drove it home from the dealer. Now at 129000 miles it seems the "common" problems are beginning. I have read threads for three days and discovered all problems are the same across the board.

My question is, when is FORD going to step up and assume responsibility for the problems and somehow absorb the financial burden that so many of us, the loyal fanbase or should i say fanatic are being strapped with every day. If its not a sensor or a egr cooler, its a head gasket ot my favorite, a turbo. they have built a bullit proof block bottom end but its not worth a dime if whats mounted to it wont hold up to the stress of towing. Which, if i am not mistaken is what these torque monsters have been bread for.

One trip to the dealer and you will go home questioning the oval, which is a thing i never though I would do. I have counted on this truck to make me a living and so far so good but after today i have to wonder what day i will be paying a tow bill for my X and the enclosed trailer i use for work. Not to mention trying to find a RENTAL to tow my trailer so i can still make a income to pay for the repairs.
sorry this is a rant but i would LOVE any opinions, agree or dissagree

the egr cooler, turbo vanes sticking, already replaced the icp sensor and trans temp sensor and it seem soon i will be dealing with a headgasket. to top it off this has all developed n the last two weeks. the total of the repair bill will almost be enough to buy a used motor.
my problem is that its not just my truck.......everybody else is having or going to have the same problem its just a matter of who gets lucky enough to be in warranty and who doesnt.

Did you put to many 000's behind that 129?

If you really have 129K and just now having problems then please let me suffer the same fate.

My budget for this year includes suspension and brake work.
Next year Transmission. Turbo the next.
EGR work
I'm not budgeting head work EGR guage and NO tuner should = happy heads.

Thats a good thing to hope for, but doesn't necessarily hold true.

129000 is what i have put on it but if you read other threads.......some trucks are having these same problems at 25000 and 50000 but you wont hear as much because they are still under warranty.

Unfortunately that doesn't always happen, although you would think the odds would be in your favor, however, that doesn't always happen. I spent more then that under the hood and I had headgasket problems before I had 60k so really u should count yourself lucky.

I know but I try to keep my glass 1/2 full, visiting here a couple of times a day keeps it pretty full. Especially when I see someone with 100K + miles and few if any problems.

I forgot to mention my budget includes alternator, water pump ooppss there goes my glass again.

U don't even want to know what I'm having to plan for in my budget, of course, most of it is fun stuff and the average person shouldn't have to worry about it, but I'm having to much fun modding the ole girl.

you are missing the point of this thread...i am not just complaining about my truck now, thats just what sparked my frustration. but i am speaking of the others that have these problems at 50 and 60k as you did.

I understand your frustration. I came from the same backround, ford family for years and years! Grandfather worked as one of the top guys overseas. Im such a loyal ford fanatic its crazy - but the decline started with terrible and rude customer service at many dealers. Then no one wanted to match the price of the dodge ram i was "going to get" ... which i ended up getting (how embaressing - im a poor college student take it easy on me! haha, its my dads now) Doing some business with VW lately you see how friendly and willing they are to work with you to make sure you are happy. You would think ford would bend over backwards to accomadate our situations (and to help their $5 stock)! I mean yes, trucks do need repairs but the whole 6.0 thing is sickening and it kept me from getting one. So un predictable and expensive to repair - you are almost guaranteed to have some sort of $1000+ problem at one time or another (or in your case $4-5000+) Goodluck with your truck and your situation. They was i see it - they make a DAMN good truck so whatca gonna do!?

As for me i've got 73k no real problems to this point (knock on wood) got some bad fuel once and recalls other than that i service it myself and take care of the old girl.... i put money back every week for big repairs for when i'm outta warranty if i get out of warranty with no major problems ie injectors, headgaskets, things of that nature my plans as for right now is to upgrade turbo new head studs tuner and exhaust thought bout eliminating egr not sure.....

overall love my truck tho
