Rear Tank problem.

I have a 95 F-150 with a 5.0. Truck runs great on the front tank but when I switch to the rear it will start to surge around 30 mph and then die. I does not always do it and sometime will drive fine. Once I switch to the front tank it will run fine. I have replaced the rear fuel pump, the fuel filter and the fuel pressue is good from the tank when it runs. I can't find any trouble codes but it woun't mess up when I am checking it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The selector switch might be acting up sometimes when you switch it.

Sounds like a bad front fuel pump delivery assembly (module) with a bad hi pressure check valve.

I have followed the fuel lines and I can't find a module. Where it is located?

It is inside the front tank.

It looks like this.

thanks, I have also been told it could be the relay. What would you try first?

The same (is common to) relay operates both pumps in both tanks.

You could tape a fuel gauge to the windshield and go for a ride like some Ford dealers do.

Here is a diagram.
