i got a 92 ranger with a 3.0 it misses at a idle and pings going uphill and on acceleration i put plugs wires cap rotor pcv valve mass airflow sensore intake gaskets and more when i drop in gear the miss cuts almost all the way out.i also puta idle controle valve on. the plugs wher brown they seamed fine the new ones i puked again they are fine also. i checked the timming it was ok. i got a squek comming from the distributercould this be the problum even though the timming light showed good timming? i put a coil on it had no effect please help
Well seeing as how you've checked the timing, replaced the plugs & wires & the old plugs looked ok, maybe it's a vacuum leak, or carbon deposits????
So check all your vacuum lines & this would include the PCV valve & hoses, the vapor recovery system & the heater control vacuum system & lines.
If all that proves out, perhaps it'scarbon deposits, so maybe try a good top tier detergent gasoline, like Chevron, Texaco, or CalTex, with a 20 oz container of Chevron "Techron Concentrate Plus" added at the pump BRFORE fill up.
Then run most of the treated tank out with some spirited accellerations & the rpm above 3500 for a mile or two & a 10 mile out & back road trip or two, during the treated tank & let us know how it goes.
The Techron will clean up the fuel injectors, intake valves & combustion chambers, so if deposits are the problem, you'll likely see some improvement after a treated tank.
The reason I suggested the three above fuels, is because they already have Techron in them, so adding the Techron Concentrate to those fuels, it will be compatable with whats already in there, but at a much greater concentration, so you'll likely see faster results, if the problem is deposit related.
I had a similar problem with mine. I did all the same things you did... Ended up being an overtightened rocker holding the fuel valve open. I imagine a sticking injector or Fuel regulator could have the same effect. -might be worth a look.
The 3.0s have a tendency to get combustion chamber deposits that result in pinging. pawpaw's advice is right on track. If you don't like the Chevron brand, seafoam has been reported to give good results as well.
I have a 2004 Ranger Edge, 3.0. Runs rough at idle and "CHECK ENGINE" will start to flash. If I leave it running for a while, "CHECK ENGINE" light will stay on, not flashing anymore. I have a code checker and it keeps telling me that I have a mis-fire on cylinder 2. I have replaced the plugs, wires and coil pack but still the problem is there. Help!!!!!

Welcome to FTE.
The flashing CEL is indicating a cylinder misfire. A misfire can be caused by a number of things, electrical, fuel, mechanical/compression.
So, maybe have a listen of the #2 fuel injector, using a stethoscope.
If you don't have one, you can fashion one from a broom handle, piece of tubing, ect, one end to your ear, the other on the injector & with the engine running, compare it's sound to the others.
If it sounds different, maybe it's sticking/acting up. If so, maybe try a good fuel system cleaner upper, like Chevrons Techron Conentrate Plus, in a tank of Chevron, Texaco, or CalTex gas & see if things improve.
If that doesn't prove out, try a compresson check & see how #2 compares to the others & specification. Maybe you have a sticking valve, ect.
There is a procedure listed in the Tech Tips to decarbonize your engine. I personally use Seafoam and have had good luck with it over the years. That and keeping your Mass Air Flow Sensor clean will make a big difference.
