460 Smog/Air Pump

460 Smog/Air Pump

I have a 68 F-100 that I am putting a 460 in. Since my truck is exempt from emissions, do I have to have an air/smog pump. Will this effect the engine in any way.

Are they the same thing, air/smog pump?

I am going to be using a stock cast iron intake and it has a hose fitting coming out on the end near the dist. I thought that was for the smog/air pump, if so can I just put a cap on it?

At 20,001 Km I couldn't disconnect and remove my emissions fast enough.

Emission controls ?
What a way to sludge up an engine!
