My friend borrowed my 95 F250 7.3L powerstroke, its been running fine for him but the other day for some reason or another he didn't plug it in at night. So the next morning he had a hard time getting it going. From the story he tells me he got it started went inside and then heard a lound bang went outside and the air filter was on fire, It also ruined the intake housing.
He claims he didn't use any ether to get it going. Is it even possible for something like this to happen without ether? Or is he leaving out some of the story?
Thats deffinitely ether no doubt about it...Ive seen it before I know a guy who has a E350 powerstroke...he had to replace the entire intake because the ether blew it to pieces...he also wasnt the one to spray it in. Our trucks dont need ether as long as the batteries, GPs and GPR are in working condition.
