Rear end noise ?
I have a 1997 f150 2wd with a noise in the rear. It sounds like a rubbing/scraping noise. The rear end oil was low on it and it was topped off when truck had state inspection done. I don't know if the noise is Brake related or if the wheel bearing is shot. When I'm driving down the road and partially apply the e brake the noise goes away. So I'm wondering if its the brakes dragging or if the bearing is bad. If the bearings are bad how hard of a job is it to replace? Its a limited slip 3.55 ratio rearend what is involved to pull the axle shafts and check? Thanks in advance.
