I was just wondering if I can use 1990 Mustang heads E7TE (87-93) on my 1995 F150 302? If so, will everything bolt up the same as my stock heads or not. The reason I ask is that I have access to these heads for a good price?
The mustang uses the truck heads. They are the same as yours. tfowler306 is right, pick them up mill them a bit for compression a nice valve job. I have to ask, what is your "good price"? E7 heads really are a dime a dozen and not worth much unless you need them asap.
A good price would be getting a set of GT40's from a Lightning motor for 100 bucks a pop......what they said...dime a dozen and they're already on there.....Definately get the heads worked....you can get some killer flow out of em.....Luck

Is this true with older ford trucks as well? A friend of mine is getting rid of an 85 f-150 with a 302, and I think i am going to re-build it... alittle at a time, starting with the engine, I was thinking about getting a set of stang heads, but if they are the same, i may just rebuild my own, instead of buying other set and having to rebuild them ...
What was it, '86 or '87 and later Mustang 302 blocks had roller cams. That alone would be a good reason to choose a used Mustang block over a truck block. But, you can convert your truck blocks over to a roller cam. If you are gonna swap out the cam, put in a roller cam with roller lifters. Besides guides, there isn't anything else you need to do.
well, the old truck i am going to restore is an 85, if i am not mistaken it was one of the first years that those trucks came with fuel injection? i was just wondering if the heads would be worth building, or should i go and find a set of a mustang that would work on my block

You should have E5TE castings which are very close to the E7TE.. side by side you would have a hard time telling them apart. If you were to port these you would be further ahead, search for porting links on the web targeting these castings.
Mustangs don't come with roller rockers.. maybe you're thinking of the roller lifters.
i thought the 302HO came with RR's? dont people upgrade them to 1.7's? I know its a "roller motor".. jeez have i thought wrong that whole time? I know theres something roller in them greatly reducing the friction.... hmmmm i feel dumb now
They only have roller cams... lifters are plain old hydraulic lifters. I don't understand why people go ape over these, you can build a heck of a lot more motor than the factory setup ever dreamed of.
