Smile UVCG Plug Replacement

To change a UVCG plug on the wire loom ON TOP of the engine how is it done?

Does the replacement plug have short wires to splice into the loom or do you replace the pins on the loom wires and feed them into the new plug?

How do it do it? lol

The contacts are put onto the wires and then snap into the plug body.

i guess you are talking about the injector/gow plug harness OUTSIDE of the valve cover. if so, i have two burt up plugs (glow plug pins). is there a kit and does it come with both the new plug and the pin/contacts that go on the wires?

So what your saying is the the actual wires have pins into the plastic pigtail piece and then it connects to the UCV?

I need to replace all my undercover wiring aswell.

Yes the wires have the pin connectors fitted to the ends then the pin connectors clip into the plastic shell.

Action: You are one amazing guy. Is there anything that you don't have stored and can back it up with pix?

Just out of curiosity, where does one purchase all of those little parts to fabricate the plugs?

I have sent you some rep points just becuz you do what you do so well.

Tim, I don't know if you have ever used those replacement plugs but are they
a solder splice, a crimp splice or does it make a difference?

You know that you are right up there with Action in the knowledge department. Do you two guys have a "Main Frame" computer that you share?

Those pigtail connectors would be best with solder with shrink tubing. They also seal solder shrink butt connectors that I use alot. They have a ring on solder with flux in the center the out sheath is shrink tubing. Twist the wire together with the connector already on the wire then slide it over your connection and use a lighter or heat gun to melt it to a perfect connection.

Rick has many more links than I do!! You should see his computer folder he has all those in. One of these day I will sneek in there and copy it!!!

Never heard of the connectors with the solder and shrink on them. Where do you get them little buggers?
