Well I have had my truck in the shop already to fix this problem.....but they didn't fix it.....the A/C for some reason will blow cool air and then all of a sudden decide to start blowing hot air......they check the freon level and it was fine.....replaced the A/C head unit inside the cab....and that didn't fix the problem....so just curious if anyone else has had this problem and if so what was the fix to it......???
I hear that..... ....you know it may just be a ford thing.....my A/C display is temperature regulated so maybe once it reaches the desired temp it shuts off....????

Common complaint. I think about 50% of owners say their AC sux and the other 50% say it works fine. I can tell you mine is not fine. It does not blow cold all the time when it's 100+ degrees out. Sometimes it's cold then it gets ambient then cold again. It will do that over and over again.

I haven't noticed any problems with the manual system in my 2007 F-150.
I hope they checked the high pressure switch. It sounds like that to me. A faulty high pressure switch incorrectly turns the compressor off as if the pressure was up to the high limit when it's not thus resulting in hot air.
This happened on the wife's Blazer. Started blowing a bit warm intermittently then progressed to not blowing cold at all over the course of one day.

That may be what mine is doing. Although mine has a hissing sound coming from the dryer almost like its leaking. I just recharged the system though and its fine. So how do we fix the high pressure switch?
Not being a mechanic, I'd guess the system would have to be depressurized to replace the switch and then recharged again. That was $150 for the Blazer just for reference.
I have had the opposite problem where I sometimes would get cold instead of hot air, but of course, my problem occurred when A/C was not a concern, so I never checked. The problem was with a motor assembly for the air blend door, Could be the same for you. Check out the thread link below. Good luck!
A friend of mine bought an 06 F-150 about the same time I did. He has the exact same AC system in his and it gives him fits all the time. Mine however works great and blows nice and cold (knock on wood).
But he was born and raised in Palm Desert Ca., so it ain't that bad for him. If it gets cooler than 100 degrees out, he has to put on a sweater!
On my 07' with automatic system, if you push the a/c button and set temp the air will not be as cold. But if you push auto button and set temp to 60 the air will be colder.
On my 07 with auto I just set the temp to 68 and recirc. It will make you turn it down shortly. From what I have been told if you set it all the way down it can cause it to freeze up and not blow cold. If you have the auto system and this is what you are getting try to set the temp up a little. If you put it on recirc you will not have to cool the hot air from outside and should help some too.
Mine is a 2007 with manual control. It works, but doesn't get as cold as I like. I have a TownCar, and a Grand Marquis, and an 88 turbo-coupe T-Bird. They all blow the truck right out of the water... I would like to know "Why the difference?"...
