police interceptor heads......
) they are d20e ab i think. now the guy i bought these from said he thought they were 75 cc heads. now i know they have been rebuilt(could have been shaved), they have new springs and valves, but i was wondering if there was any way short of taking them off to test the compression so i could see if these heads really are 75 cc instead of the 92 ccs like ive been seeing on recent posts? and if they are the 92 cc variety, what kind of power should expect with a ford motorsport cam(216/220 @ .050) edelbrock performer rpm intake 750 cfm carb, 1.73 roller rockers, bored 40 over with stock replacement pistons and full tube headers(dont know which ones yet) msd billet distributor and 9mm wires? thanks and sorry bout the long postmike
Depending on the size you get, it might take a couple of fills you'll add together.
For more exact measurements, you'd make up a clear plexiglass plate just large enough to cover one of the chambers in the head, and drill a small hole in it.
Lay the head on the bench so the chambers face up. Then you 'glue' the plate over one chamber on the head with heavy grease and fill up the chamber with light oil from the calibrated syringe.
Some states have laws about selling syringes, but you shouldn't have a problem getting one without a needle, which you don't need, anyway.
Besides, my wife has a horse-- I wouldn't EVER want one of those horse needles stuck in me! It's like getting hit with a nail.
Yee-ouch!
