Ok I did it for the enviro reasons more than anything, but I gotta tell you I love B99 so far. No real diff over B20 that I could tell... Thats a good thing in my book. I went to Socal Biofuel, 1006 E South St Anaheim CA 92805. These guys were really kind. I had to sign a wavier saying I understood what I was doing. They gave me some stickers and a shirt, but bets of all... I got B99 for 3.69 gal... Paid for 25gal, they gave me just short of 36 gals... Rolled in empty, rolled out full/ toped off. I got to see the full production process... this stuff is made from cooking oil taken of KFC and ect and then converted to Bio D. ... Gotta say buying your fuel where you know its made is kinda cool... it being renewable is the icing on the cake.
I have a bunch of competing reasons to use it... cleans the fuel system... no addative needed, enviro... etc etc... but getting 35+ gal for the price of 25 works best. The price was high... but Bio 20 is about what I normally pay when I dont use a truck stop.
Keep an eye on the temps. Some B99 will gel in the low 40's depending on the feedstock used. I've seen a couple of posts where the fuel starts to thicken and kills a weak fuel pump.
I don't know enough about this but I'd suggest filling a glass jar half way with the B99, and a second glass jar half way with Dino. If you leave them outside you could check them on mornings that are cool and see if the bio seems thicker.
I thought it would be less $$..Gets the oil for nothing! should be $ 2.50 per gal...or less!!! It will cost another 2.50 per tank full to keep it from gelling!!! Never buy from where you have to sign something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
