I got this new idea brewing in my mind. Over the past year I had replaced my stock rims on my 1995 F350 with some Amerian Racing ones, which are doing the trick for now, but the tire and wheel region should still be addresed at some point. I had thought maybe about going from a 31 inch tire to a 33 or a 35 inch tire, but I really didnt want too big of a tire and most people wernt offering the type of sidewall strength i was looking for which I want an E rated sideall tire. Anyhow this is my new idea, I am thinking oppose to upping tire size, I want to up the rim size, to say 19 1/2 inch or maybe bigger, and then put a nice heavy duty tire on those, and have them nice and wide. I like to keep sort of a street look with my modifications, and this seems to be the best approach in my mind, because it will add street appeal and fill that unsiteful fenderwell gap I have. What do you guys think? And where could I find a rim company that would make nice strong rims?
I haven't seen many wide heavy truck tires, I think you can find E-rated tires in 20" now that F250/350s and dodges are shipping stock with 20" wheels. However not all E-rated tires are alike, find the specs of different tires and compare the weight carrying capabilities. Most any 8 lug wheel will be heavy duty enough because they will be designed for use on a 3/4 or 1 ton truck.
