Brake booster question...
I have the small diameter brake booster on my 69...its going bad and I need to replace it. I have a large diameter booster off of a 78 or 79 and wondered if it would require any mods? Thanks for the help.

I don't think there interchangeable. The 69 mounts to the bracket while the 79 mounts directly to the firewall. Somewhere in late 70's is when they went to the firewall mount. The ends may be different too. Numbers will know for sure which years fit.

Ford later replaced the early booster with the late one = 1969/70 F100 = C9TZ-2005-D
1973/79 different boosters...disc brakes only after 1972 (except on 4WD 1973/75).
1969/72 F100 = C9TZ-2005-D
1973/76 F100 = D3TZ-2005-A / 11.46" DIAMETER
1977 = D7TZ-2005-A / 11.00" DIAMETER
1978 & 1979 DIFFERENT AGAIN.

I have a 76 booster on my 67... I am using the brackets that came off the 76 but everything more or less bolted right up. I will tell you if you are using the pent roof valve covers on an FE it's a close fit but it works!
